Katarina’s deep sense of compassion and desire to help people led her to become a registered nurse. After years of working in acute care settings as an RN, she wanted to shift focus to help patients improve their health and avoid trips to the hospital, which inspired Katarina to pursue her advanced nursing degree, focusing on primary care. She chose family medicine specifically because she enjoys caring for patients of all ages and loves that she can form long-lasting relationships. Katarina’s favorite part of her job is empowering patients by helping them understand their medical conditions so they can make informed decisions about their health. When caring for patients, she believes it’s important to establish a trusting relationship in a nonjudgmental setting to allow for open and honest communication. Katarina recognizes that each patient has unique life experiences and strives to provide individualized care by holistically caring for each patient. She partners with her patients to develop a treatment plan that best fits their lives.
Katarina is originally from Guilford, NY. Outside of medicine, she enjoys baking, hiking, camping, and spending time with her husband, son, and dog.
