Internal Medicine River Road Office Update

A MESSAGE TO OUR PATIENTS REGARDING YOUR HEALTH DURING THE COVID19 PANDEMIC:

For the safety of our staff and other patients, we are not seeing any patients in the office who have fever, cough, sneezing, sore throat or shortness of breath.  If you have these symptoms and feel you need to be seen, please call us and we can direct you to the appropriate location

All medical visits will be done via telehealth unless they require laboratory testing or physical exam.  Patients who need testing or an exam will continue to be seen in our office.  We will call you in advance to be sure you are not experiencing symptoms of COVID19.

If you have an upcoming appointment, we will call you to convert that appointment to a telehealth visit.

Insurance companies changed their rules to allow us to see you via a telehealth visit.  We are using a program called doxy.me which our patients have found convenient and easy to use.    This does not require any type of software installation.  We will send you and email/text, you click on the link, type in your name and you will be connected to our office.  It seems to work best from a phone or ipad, but can work from a computer that has a webcam and microphone.  We strongly prefer telehealth visits because we can actually see you and because insurance companies require this type of interaction for us to bill them for a medical appointment.

Please do not cancel your appointments – we want to continue to keep you as healthy as possible and we do not want any of you neglecting your health during this stressful time.

Lastly, please understand that the number of calls to our office has been very high.  If you have a non-urgent question or concern, please communicate with us via the patient portal so that we can keep the phone lines come for those with urgent issues.

Thank you and we hope that we will be able to get back to usual business soon.  In the meantime, stay home and stay staff.
